Tourismis growing faster day by day over the world. It can also be the major source offoreign earnings and can also be a part of employment for many developingcountries (Haque, M. A., Islam, F., 2015, PP 23-32). Tourism is a way of leisureactivity and a great way of recreation.

& Kalam, D. A., 2010, pp. 65-75). Tourism can be defined as one or more nights awayfrom home, or a day trip of over 40 km, which includes foreign and domestictravelers, includes many industries, e.g. accommodation, attractions, food andbeverage, recreation, culture, entertainment, transportation, retail.

As Bangladeshis blessed with beautiful natural resources so it has so many potential intourism sector. With that we can easily earn so many foreign currencies whichcan increase our GDP significantly. Beyond Cox’s Bazar and Sundarbans, Sylhetis in the third position of the ladder of priority of tourism sector inBangladesh (Rahman et al 2010, pp. 65-75). Sylhet region is growing faster in thetourism industry of Bangladesh. Sylhet is situated in the northern-eastern partof Bangladesh. Sylhet is situated graphically beside Surma Valley with teaplantations and lush green tropical forests. Above all, Sylhet is a primeattraction for all tourists visiting Bangladesh.

About 80 km. far away fromSylhet town, Srimangal, which is known as the tea capital of Bangladesh, is theactual tea center of the area (Haque, M. A., Islam, F., 2015, PP 23-32). Though,Sylhet has good potential to be developed and promoted as one of the main tourismdestinations in Bangladesh. However, a large gap exists to reach there. Themajor reasons behind this situation are lack of local peoples, policy makers, and tourism service providers’ awareness about sustainable tourism, itsbenefits and its positive impacts on the Sylhet’s natural environment, culturalheritage, local economy, and society (Jahan, N.

& Amin, M. R., 2014). However, quality and quantity of research works in our country on this sector is verypoor.

In this situation, as a small but pleasant part of the nation, tourismsector of Sylhet region has not gained much attention in research as well as inactual development. In fact, Sylhet has a bright prospect to develop itstourism sectors as its treasures whether it is going to be a worrying situationin absence of proper plan and realistic steps. In my research, problems of thetourism sector of Sylhet region would be investigated and after this with theempirical experiences, solutions would be provided. Tourism would increase themobilization of economic condition which will expand the scope of employment inthis area.  Thus, another potential areaof income will be established and it will play a tremendous contribution in ournational economy.

If the problems can be solved and congenial situation fortourism in Sylhet area are established, it would attract the foreign visitorsfabulously because this area is well known for dealings with foreigners. Thus, our socio-Economic condition and image will be boost up. Furthermore, thisresearch would play a vital role to develop the tourism sector of Sylhet andthrough this it will contribute to the national development process ofBangladesh.                                                                                  Hypothesis             Sylhet have some great potentialitiesto be one of the best tourism places in Bangladesh. These places are also very important forBangladesh’s tourism. But some factors like accommodation, transportation, safety, economical condition etc. all of these factors are concerned in thesevisiting these places. On the other hand these places are well known to all,and there are new things in these places.

But day by day Sylhet is becomingknown to all and we all are fond of new discoveries.Significance             The significance of tourism isviewed from many angles like economic, social, cultural, political, etc. I havegone through about some concepts of Tourism in Bangladesh.
