According to world bank , in 2010, 8.3
percent of Pakistani Population are below the poverty line at the earnings of
1.90  per day while 45 percent of the
population below the poverty line at the earnings of 3.10 $ per day. According to the World Bank’s Poverty Head Count
Analysis for 2014, if income per adult in Pakistan is taken as $1.25 per day,
then 21.04percent of the population lives below the poverty line (according
to 2008 population estimates). But if the poverty line is raised to $2 per
day in line with international standards for middle income countries, then
60.19percent of the population falls below the poverty line. According to
Asian development bank in 2014, 12.4% of the Pakistani population lives below
the national poverty line which is more than Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

According to world bank, in 2011, 21.3
percent of Indian Population below the poverty line at the earnings of 1.90$
per day while 58 percent of the population below the poverty line at the
earnings of 3.10$ per day. According to this revised methodology,
the world had 872.3 million people below the new poverty line, of which 179.6
million people lived in India.
In other words, India with
17.5% of total world’s population had 20.6% share of world poorest in 2011.
According to Asian Development bank, in 2014, In India, 21.9% of the
population lives below the national poverty line which is more than Sri
Lanka, Bhutan and Maldives. India accounted for
the largest number of people living below international poverty line in 2013,
with 30 per cent of its population under the $1.90-a- day poverty measure,
the World Bank said.

2002 and a record low of 3.10 percent in the fourth quarter of 1987.
