By eating foods with contaminated feces from an animal that was infected with salmonella.· Physical contact with animals or humans. This is a rare mode of transmission.· Most likely occurs in United States and EuropeTreatment· Initial treatments:-Drink lots of water! -Take antibiotics-leaving it alone-only for kids with healthy immune system.Long Term treatments:-prolonged antibiotics-vaccines( if thyroid fever is developed.)-gallbladder removed Prognosis· Untreated prognosis is good. They are most likely to recover. But if the case is serious it may cause death or se vere illness.· Treated Good. Its very rare for the patients to not recover.· Life Expectancy under VERY RARE circumstances a patient who HAS to get treated would have 8 years left to live. Prevention· Don’t eat raw/uncooked eggs and meat. Eating will cause food poisoning.· ALWAYS put the food in the fridge before AND after eating it. Have raw food separate from cooked.· Always wash your hands when your touching food. Not washing can lead to bacteria getting on the food.· Wash foods thoroughly, so you are eating clean food. Wait till the juice turns colorless when cooking meat.· Clean utensils after using it, and before using it.
