In video games say many studies failed to control

In English class, we read an excerpt titled, “Do Violent Video Games Contribute to Youth Violence?,” published by The excerpt explains how violent video games are potentially responsible for youth violence. I believe violent video games are to blame for aggressive behavior. I also believe violent video games do contribute to youth violence. However I think it’s not only the violent games that influence aggressive behavior, but other issues such as mental problems, abuse, divorce, and parent neglect.
according to, “Video game allows players to mimic violent actions, such as shooting, or dismembering someone with an axe, sword, chainsaw, or other weapons.” Virtual games are so realistic that reacting the violence enhances the learning of violent behaviors. According to, “60% of middle school boys and 40% of middle school girls who played at least one Mature-rated (M-rated) game hit or beat up someone, compared with 39% of boys and 14% of girls who did not play M-rated games.” Another interesting fact from the website is “Two teenagers in Tennessee who shot at passing cars and killed one driver told police they got the idea from playing Grand Theft Auto III. Additionally Bruce Bartholomew, professor of psychology at the University of Missouri, spoke about the effects of simulating violence: ‘More than any other media, these violent video games encourage active participation in violence.'” According to  “Contrarily Defenders of violent video games say many studies failed to control for factors that contribute to children becoming violent, such as family history and mental health, plus most studies do not follow children over long periods of time.” I still believe violent video games cause youth violence.
Some games reward players for kills such as Counter strike. When I played Counter strike if you got two kills it would say, “Double Kill.” When you killed enough, you would get a notice that says “Level Up.”Many people play Counter strike today, and every time the game updates it gets more and more realistic. One day I read a book that described a kid who ever since he played a violent video game wanted to be a solider. I do honor all veterans but being a solider is risky, I believe we need more scientist, engineers, business.Yes I believe violent video games influence and entrap children to encourage violence. We went over violent behaviors, important statistics, and most of all the impacts of video games. I think violent video games contribute to youth violence and you should too
