I, Archana Kaliappan a Graduate in Industrial Engineering would like to express my interest in PhD Program in Operation Management under the department of Industrial Engineering and Innovative Sciences in TU/e Technische Universiteit Eindhoven
I am especially interested in the particular Research Operation Management as it is an excellent fit for my academic backgrounds and also covers major fields such as Operation, Planning, Accounting, Control, Quality.
I like to do my PhD in TU/e Technische Universiteit Eindhoven in Holland. Since is in top position in healthcare compared to other European Countries. I found out that this research topic needs highly innovative and challenging ideas as well as good academic background in Industrial Engineering and I possess all the requirements and skills required to carry out the project and, I cannot get a better place for this research.
I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Sathyabama University in India as I found the course was really challenging compared to other courses at that time. And, I hold a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering and Management from Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania as it has scope in in Future. Since Industry is the brain, heart and soul of the globalized world and, I possess good basic skills needed for it.
In my master’s project, I designed the methodology, worked on interpretation of data analysis, and contributed theoretical and analytical knowledge to the write-up and finish my thesis. I believe that these skills `and experience will allow me to complete a larger-scale project like a PhD in Operation Management and I find it as most Innovative idea and also challenging for me as it is mainly concerned on increasing the efficiency on Pharmaceutical Industry and thus helping the manufacturers of drugs and also to the society by using my skills and experience.
This research has the potential to contribute to my academic background and to enhance my skills in operation management which automatically leads for the optimization and welfare of wider society in healthcare. All human deserves a healthy life. Many people die because they couldn’t afford the cost of medicine and this plays a vital role in this research. By reducing the cost and increasing the quality of the drug and also by helping the manufacturers to discover drugs for rare diseases with affordable cost, we can save more lives of people.
I find this research as a challenging one by increasing the quality and efficiency of the drugs on the other hand reducing the cost and lower lead time for the manufacturers.
I have also undergone a course on Non-Destructive testing which can be considered as an added advantage in this research for testing of quality and how to implement the methods of quality in order to be improved or optimized.
I am best fit for this research work as I have good knowledge in each and every subject of Industrial Engineering and being a social concerned person it will be my pleasure doing this research which will be helpful for the wider society as a social cause and it will save several lives of people and also reaching the lives of people who cannot afford drugs/ medicine due to high cost.
Education is an art and it can be developed only by learning and spreading our gained knowledge. I have keen interest to became a professor in the field of Industrial Engineering focusing mainly in Operations strategy in the future and it will be an immense pleasure for me in the future as it will create revolution in pharmaceutical industry operations.
